Waltons spelled backward is Snotlaw

Yes, it's true. Just like stressed spelled backward is desserts. Back in the mid 1970s, there was a show called The Waltons. It was based on the life of Earl Hamner, a man who grew up in the beautiful country in Virginia, near Charlottesville, Richmond and the Shenandoah Valley. If you've never been in that area, you're missing out on some outstanding scenery--any time of the year.

When the show first came out, I was in ninth grade, so I was a cynical, obnoxious teenager, quick to frown and snort at anything and everything. While I really enjoyed the Thanksgiving story (the Homecoming), I wasn't so keen on anything that depicted a family happy to be in the midst of a depression.

But, as fate would have it, one of my closest friends wrote me a note one day and informed me that Waltons spelled backward is Snotlaw, forever branding the show in that light in my household.

Fate again shines her light on me, as two episodes of the Waltons appear on the Hallmark Channel daily. I have been taping them and watching at my leisure. So many of these episodes I've missed because I was too cool in high school and college to watch the show. It seemed appropriate to test out my new convergence media specialist designation by creating a Snotlaw podcast, which is now placed in cyberspace for all to enjoy. (Use this link for a wav version of the Snotlaw podcast.)

And, if you want to know what's happening on the mountain, come back often for updates.
